This historic 1878 pub serves good cold beer and bistro style food. Great for a steak as well as a curry. Burgers, pizzas, schnitzels and other country pub staples on offer. The Commercial has a traditional front bar with plenty of atmosphere and no gaming machines. There is a restaurant, a comfortable rear lounge and plenty of space in an outside courtyard with lawns.

There are public toilets at the Queen Street Courtyard in the centre of town near the pedestrian crossing. O’Meara Park at the southern end of town also has toilets, as does the Rotary Park diagonally opposite the pool.

Universal carries a full range of commercial catering equipment, with most stock held on site. They take care of design and manufacture of commercial kitchens as well as supplying the simple items that keep a kitchen running smoothly. Crockery, glassware and takeaway packaging are also sold here. Known locally as “The Kitchen Shop”, Universal also stocks an extensive range of items for the domestic kitchen. UCCE delivers and installs equipment and kitchens across the northern inland. Owner Kylie is always willing to visit for a measure and quote.

The small community of Upper Horton has a friendly local club which serves drinks and food and offers a great spot to catch up. The Clubhouse has full bar facilities, a gaming area and a restaurant providing fresh, delicious meals using local food. Sports facilities include a tennis court, bowling green, cricket pitch, and rodeo/campdraft grounds.

There is a camping ground next to the river amongst the trees with powered sites and full amenities.
