Split Rock Dam
Split Rock is named after a fissure in a great rock near the dam.
Amenities include picnic areas, wood barbecues and boat ramps. Anglers report good catches of Murray cod, golden perch and silver perch. Water sports enjoyed at Split Rock include skiing, sailing, fishing and swimming.
The main camping area is about a kilometre from the dam wall on the western foreshore and has unpowered sites. There is also powered sites located near the amenities block. A concrete boat ramp is near the main campground. Current fees and charges can be found on the Tamworth Regional Council website tamworth.nsw.gov.au and payment can be made at the Barraba or Manilla Council offices.
Travel around 25km south of Barraba. Turn east (left) Split Rock Dam Road. Follow the signage. This is around a 40-minute journey in Barraba. The route is on sealed roads.
