Sawn Rocks
Sawn Rocks are a spectacular rock formation where the volcanic rock has solidified into an “organ-pipe” formation.
It’s an easy 15-minute walk along the track to the lookout at the foot of Sawn Rocks. There is a picnic and barbecue area at the track head.
Head north on Queen St (Fossickers Way) for around 18km. Turn left at Cobbadah onto Horton Rd and travel around 18km through the village of Upper Horton. Travel another 16km. Some of this section is unsealed. Turn left onto Killarney Gap Rd (towards Narrabri) and travel 37km. The turn to Sawn Rocks will be on your left. This route from Barraba is around 90km and takes around 60 minutes.
Alternately, drive north to Bingara and head west on Killarney Gap Rd for around 67km. This is a route of about 130km from Barraba and takes around 90 minutes.
